The frontline of governance
Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA), a Geneva-registered global organisation, is dedicated to developing and growing the study and practice of secretaryship to improve professional standards, the quality of governance practice and to improve organisational performance. Its vision is to be ‘The Global Voice of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals’.
A research report entitled “Twenty Practical Steps to Better Corporate Governance’ was released to coincide with the official launch of CSIA in March 2010. This report (written by Professor Bob Tricker – the father of corporate governance) draws from nine experts’ contributions, including those of Sir Adrian Cadbury, and makes practical recommendations designed to improve corporate governance.
CSIA represents corporate secretaries and governance professionals who work as frontline practitioners of governance throughout the world. To increase recognition of and respect for global governance professionals, CSIA is currently lobbying with the WTO to introduce a separate Head in the Services Sectorial Classification List for corporate governance, compliance, and secretarial advisory professionals (CGCSA). Inclusion of CGCSA will support efforts to broaden corporate governance best practice worldwide.
